It's more erotica now- and BAD erotica at that. (But Hamilton & her fans still insist that it's romantic UF despite the fact that in most of her recent books over 70% of the book is comprised of sex scenes lasting CHAPTERS at a time.)

Then there's the blatant misogyny that rears it's ugly head throughout the later books...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33311991.post-57312476399433118082007-01-21T22:01:00.000-05:002007-01-21T22:01:00.000-05:00True, but I started with Narcissus in Chains and w...True, but I started with Narcissus in Chains and worked my way backward for a book or two, then jumped to a beginning.

I started with crazy, Leopard shower sex.

So my viewpoint is a little discoloured....Shawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03026335818721649588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33311991.post-64214303889301031832007-01-21T18:37:00.000-05:002007-01-21T18:37:00.000-05:00yeah, except the whole naughty sex thing doesn't e...yeah, except the whole naughty sex thing doesn't even come into play until "The Killing Dance" since up until them Anita doesn't believe in sex before marriage.Gwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14840270045390557504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33311991.post-75254875662259909062007-01-21T13:50:00.000-05:002007-01-21T13:50:00.000-05:00I've read a couple of the books including the firs...I've read a couple of the books including the first one.

I like horror/ erotic fiction. It's a weakness.

I think younger males will like it. Older ones not so much. The comic I mean. The book is a little more easier for males to like. It captures BUFFY a little in tone but with you know, lots of naughty sex.Shawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03026335818721649588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33311991.post-43635863563140299262007-01-21T11:06:00.000-05:002007-01-21T11:06:00.000-05:00I'll pass on the books, but I was interested in yo...I'll pass on the books, but I was interested in your view of the books as Rusty has said that this book sells to an almost totally different audience then other comics and actually seems to get some different people in the store (mainly women). So this book looks to be a good thing for the industry to try and attract new fans.Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00352163584546054887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33311991.post-15845766820583929762007-01-21T02:14:00.000-05:002007-01-21T02:14:00.000-05:00I think the Anita Blake character is appealing to ...I think the Anita Blake character is appealing to both men and women, but I'd have to say there is certaintly a lot that is geared towards a female audience (such as her extensive descriptions of attractive men). Most people I know who read her books are women. I'm not sure if you'd like the novels but I can lend them to you at some point if you're interested - the earlier ones are a lot of ass kicking fun.Gwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14840270045390557504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33311991.post-42313240121660320262007-01-20T20:51:00.000-05:002007-01-20T20:51:00.000-05:00Good review.
