The Best in Sports

Another off topic day... So let's talk Sports. The blog has been remarkably quiet since the demise of the Baltimore Ravens last year... and their continued, slow, agonizing demise this year.

Sports wise, I have to say, it's good to be from New England.

(1) Patriots are kicking Butt.... and looking to go 16-0. With a chance to win a Superbowl.
(2) The Bruins (Hockey) are contending in the NHL... and might actually make the playoffs for the first time in years
(3) The Celtics have the best record in the NBA... and are the team to beat in the East.
(4) Red Sox won the World Series... and are in the lead to acquire Santana one of the best pitchers in all of baseball.

Life is good for the New England sports fan. BUT, it's even better for the New England sports fan in the South where I live. While talking to my brother the other day I mentioned how much it sucked to have 70 degree days in December. He said something about 15 degree temperatures and blowing snow just before hanging up on me.

Oh well, he'll call back once the snow melts... in April.

And finally, I realized the Beatles were pretty much irrelevant to today's musical scene. But more on that next week.

GO PATRIOTS!

THE NOT THE BEST IN SPORTS

Jim: Of course those of us in Baltimore are suffering. The Orioles had their tenth losing season in a row and our new GM said recently the problems with the organization are worse then he thought. The Ravens have suffered through a dreadful season and have more people end up on the injured reserve list then the active list. Oh we weren't Super Bowl material this year, but we could have had a winning season. If you want Hockey or Basketball we need to adopt the Washington teams and the basketball team they have used to be a Baltimore franchise.

I'll stick with the cry of fans from losing franchises everywhere "WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR"

  1. I remember going to Bullets games at the Civic Center. I refuse to root for a Wahington team strictly as a matter of principle. As for the Ravens, I am writing this off as a bad year, everyone has them. Including that other team that gets mentioned here.

And about them? How much gloating do you think the others will do when and if they lose somewhere in the playoffs, or God forbid, the Super Bowl? It can happen, Lee. Never forget that.
