The art alone and the approach to his radar sense had me hooked. The second story really hinted at some of the troubles ahead. Living in denial is only going to take you so far. Matt says his ID is no problem, but everything else in the story shows that it is still a very BIG issue. Just ignoring it doesn't make it go away. I guess he's a bit more susceptible to pheromones than the rest of us due to his heightened senses. He checked out every lady in the book! Plus, it was fun and enjoyable to read.
Just based on what you've seen so far, what direction that Waid might take would make you think it's a bad direction?
Nothing says it will be bad, but I refuse to judge too early. Waid has had some great beginnings and then books have faltered. I hope this book is his next Flash run, which is perhaps the best run on Flash ever.
Well, something could happen down the line to make me jump off the title, but this was an excellent issue by itself. I would love to see Mark have another "Flash" run too. The potential is there.
Matthew - It was a good issue and a decent beginning for a new series, but I would ssy good start only. Have to see where Waid takes this book.
